Cloud and DevOps bootcamps, courses and certification prep: status ledger

Cloud and DevOps programs teach you to run systems on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud with containers, infrastructure as code and CI/CD, usually pointed at an entry-level cloud, DevOps or platform role. Most of the market is self-paced video and lab subscriptions plus vendor exams, not cohort bootcamps with placement, and the few free options are strong enough that paying is a choice, not a requirement.

This directory takes no lead fees or placement payments from any program. Where a program runs an affiliate scheme we say so on its page and mark the link. Facts carry a badge: verified means we read it on a primary source on the date shown, reported means a third party said it, unknown means nobody we trust has published it.

Status ledger

  • pivoted A Cloud Guru (now Pluralsight Cloud+): Pluralsight states 'A Cloud Guru plans are no longer available for purchase'; ACG courses and labs are sold inside the Pluralsight Cloud+ and Complete individual plans as of 2026-10-08.
  • pivoted Cloud Academy (now QA Learning Platform): cloudacademy.com redirects to platform.qa.com (301); QA merged Cloud Academy, Circus Street and QA into one brand in June 2024, and the pricing page renders no individual plan without JavaScript on 2026-10-08.
  • closed Code Fellows (Ops cybersecurity track): Homepage on 2026-10-08 states 'Code Fellows has ceased operations' after 11 years; Course Report marks the school closed. Neither page gives the closure date; the 11-year span from a 2013 founding places it in 2024.
  • paused Microsoft Leap: On 2026-10-08 all five Leap pathways (Cloud, Data, Design, Engineering, Product/Program Management) display 'Not currently accepting applications'; the FAQ says application dates are announced only on LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter.

How to choose

Start by deciding what you need to prove: a certification, a portfolio project you can explain, or hands-on time in a cluster. Vendor exams cost $100 to $300 and the Cloud Resume Challenge and Learn to Cloud are free, so any paid program has to add labs, feedback or coaching on top of that. Look for public syllabi, named refund terms with the conditions spelled out, and lab environments you do not have to pay a cloud bill for. Ignore company logo walls, student counts and testimonial pages; none of them are rates. The common mistake is buying a long recorded course when a $445 CKA bundle or a two-week project would have answered the hiring manager's question faster.

claims that do not hold up

'Job-ready from day 1' and 'graduates hired at Google, Amazon' do not hold up in this category because no program here publishes a placement rate, and several disclaim outcomes in their terms. TechWorld with Nana's sales page says job-ready while its terms state the company made 'no guarantees whatsoever about future prospects, jobs or earnings'. KodeKloud's pricing page lists employers where learners work as if they were partners. Nonprofit Per Scholas quotes an 85% graduation rate and a 2.5x wage increase with no year and no audit. Treat every number without a date and a method as marketing.
