Arctic Wolf is an Eden Prairie, Minnesota managed detection and response (MDR) company that [says it serves more than 10,000 customers](https://arcticwolf.com/company/); it raised a [$150M Series F at a $4.3B valuation in July 2021](https://arcticwolf.com/resources/press-releases/arctic-wolf-announces-150-million-series-f-financing-round/) and [cut about 250 of roughly 3,400 jobs in sales, product development and marketing in May 2026](https://www.bankinfosecurity.com/cloudflare-cuts-1100-arctic-wolf-axes-250-amid-ai-surge-a-31657). The [published process](https://arcticwolf.com/company/hiring/) is a recruiter call, an assessment for some R&D roles, role-specific interviews, then offer and background check; security analyst candidates describe one to three interviews on networking and Active Directory basics. US Triage Security Analyst postings found (2023 to 2025) are in-office SOC seats in Utah and San Antonio, and a 2025 Waterloo SOC posting describes the role as rotating 24x7 shifts; most open developer roles sit in Bengaluru, a few in Waterloo or remote Canada. Posted base bands are wide: 75,000 to 246,000 CAD for Canadian developers and 38,000 to 54,100 EUR for a Frankfurt triage analyst ([Workday postings](https://arcticwolf.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/External), November 2026).

Arctic Wolf runs security operations as a managed service. Customers send network, endpoint, cloud and identity telemetry to its Aurora platform, which the [company says](https://arcticwolf.com/company/) handles more than 10 trillion security events a week; Arctic Wolf's own SOC triages what the platform surfaces, and a Concierge Security Team is each customer's point of contact. In March 2026 it [launched an "Aurora Agentic SOC"](https://arcticwolf.com/resources/press-releases/arctic-wolf-launches-the-worlds-largest-commercial-agentic-soc-to-usher-in-a-new-era-of-agent-led-security-operations/) in which AI agents run triage, investigation and response tasks with humans kept "in the loop and on the loop."

The [hiring page](https://arcticwolf.com/company/hiring/) places SOC and Concierge work in Security Services (S2), apart from R&D, and a [Manager, Security Operations posting](https://arcticwolf.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/External/job/Office---USA---Minnesota-Eden-Prairie/Manager--Security-Operations_R26_1107-1) calls the Triage Security Analyst and Engineer group the first line of defense. Arctic Wolf told [Waterloo EDC](https://www.waterlooedc.ca/blog/arctic-wolf-200m-waterloo-unicorn) (updated February 2023) that its entire R&D team and largest office were in Waterloo, but on November 5, 2026, 25 of the 30 open developer, quality and engineering-management postings on its [Workday board](https://arcticwolf.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/External) were in India, mostly Bengaluru.

## Process

The [hiring page](https://arcticwolf.com/company/hiring/) lists the steps. A recruiter call covers your background, certifications and motivation. Some roles, especially in R&D, add an assessment, sometimes custom-built, through CodeSignal or as a PDF. Interviews vary by department, then comes an offer signed in Workday and a background check. The page recommends STAR-format answers, and postings such as [Staff Software Developer, Data Ingestion](https://arcticwolf.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/External/job/Remote-Canada/Staff-Software-Developer---Data-Ingestion_R26_1201) say remote candidates must stay on camera in every video interview.

Glassdoor's [company interview page](https://www.glassdoor.com/Interview/Arctic-Wolf-Interview-Questions-E1393965.htm) (137 reports, updated October 23, 2026) shows 2.99 out of 5 difficulty, 48.2% positive experiences and 25 days on average. The most-tagged stages are phone interview (24%), skills test (20%), one-on-one (20%) and group panel (15%).

On the [Software Developer page](https://www.glassdoor.com/Interview/Arctic-Wolf-Software-Developer-Interview-Questions-EI_IE1393965.0,11_KO12,30.htm), a Waterloo hire from December 2021 describes a recruiter call, a take-home building a React UI component with Tailwind, a hiring-manager video call, and an offer in three to four weeks. A Toronto candidate (May 2024) had HR, culture-fit and technical rounds, then had to chase a rejection. The newest reports come from Bengaluru: an August 2026 Senior Software Engineer candidate was asked about past projects, APIs, pagination, large data volumes, parsing, chunking, LLMs, RAG and OOP, and a campus intern candidate sat a pen-and-paper test before a technical round. A [site-edited PracHub account](https://prachub.com/interview-experiences/arctic-wolf-software-engineer-interview-two-coding-questions-in-forty-minutes-489023a833) (Bengaluru, July 2026) describes a project panel, then a technical round with two LeetCode-style problems, which the author solved in about 40 minutes.

| Stage | Engineering (R&D) | Triage and Concierge security |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Recruiter call | Background, motivation | Same; one candidate was cut here for lacking direct experience |
| Assessment | CodeSignal, PDF or take-home for some roles | Glassdoor stage tags include a skills test; no coding described |
| Interviews | Projects, culture fit, LeetCode-style coding | One-hour video or panels with a hiring manager, analyst or operations manager |

## What they actually ask

Reported questions, quoted as posted where wording is available:

- "Do you know AD and OUs, describe them" (Concierge Security Analyst, Kitchener, interviewed September 2022, [Glassdoor](https://www.glassdoor.com/Interview/Arctic-Wolf-Concierge-Security-Analyst-Interview-Questions-EI_IE1393965.0,11_KO12,38.htm))

- "Port numbers, What are the security triad CIA means?" (Concierge Security Analyst, posted April 2022)

- "Common ports What's an IDS / IPS" (Concierge Security Engineer, posted May 2024, [Glassdoor](https://www.glassdoor.com/Interview/Arctic-Wolf-Concierge-Security-Engineer-Interview-Questions-EI_IE1393965.0,11_KO12,39.htm))

- "Different network topologies and practical implementation" (Concierge Security Engineer, Waterloo, interviewed November 2020)

- "How many years of experience do you have in this role?" (recruiter screen, Concierge Security Engineer, Waterloo, posted June 2024)

No report filed under the Triage Security Analyst title was publicly readable, so this practice set comes from the duties in the triage postings, not from candidates:

- A user signs in from a country they have never used, then a new mailbox forwarding rule appears. Real or benign, and what do you check?

- Explain an OU versus a security group, and how a Group Policy Object reaches a workstation.

- An internal host reaches an external IP on port 3389 every few minutes. Walk through your checks.

- A user forwards a suspicious email with an attachment. What do you inspect before escalating?

- Give the network address, broadcast address and usable hosts for 10.20.30.77/26. (Answer: 10.20.30.64, 10.20.30.127, 62 usable.)

## Security roles at Arctic Wolf

SOC titles on recent postings are Triage Security Analyst, Triage Security Engineer, and Concierge Security Engineer 2 and 3. Glassdoor still files older reports under Concierge Security Analyst; a May 2024 reviewer says HR told them the analyst role had become Concierge Security Engineer. Detection work sits in research titles: a [Threat Researcher 2 in Cork](https://arcticwolf.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/External/job/Cork-IRL/Threat-Researcher-2_R26_1202) turns threat-team investigations into detection rules and tunes false positives with Python and Sigma, and a [Bengaluru detection researcher](https://arcticwolf.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/External/job/Bengaluru-IND/Security-Developer--Researcher---Detection_R26_1056) builds XDR detections from third-party telemetry.

The triage analyst is the front line. Postings describe assessing inbound alerts and customer messages, closing simple items with playbooks, deciding whether an event is real or benign, assigning real ones to security engineers, and writing runbooks. The bar is a year of industry experience or equivalent training (helpdesk, sysadmin or security roles are a plus), basic knowledge of three of six areas (networking, perimeter, authentication, IaaS, endpoint, SaaS), and clear customer writing; CTFs, home labs and certifications such as Security+ or CCNA help. Every US triage posting found, dated 2023 to 2025, requires office work: [American Fork](https://simplify.jobs/p/03fc0216-9613-425b-a14e-dee3e91aff53/Triage-Security-Analyst) and [Pleasant Grove](https://www.purpose.jobs/discover/companies/arctic-wolf/jobs/29865477-triage-security-analyst), Utah, and [San Antonio](https://simplify.jobs/p/7260a86a-1e9e-4baa-85a4-5eb5042763b1/Triage-Security-Analyst). On November 5, 2026, the Workday board's only open triage posting was a Triage Cybersecurity Analyst in Frankfurt; none were open in North America. A September 2025 [intern posting for the Waterloo SOC](https://simplify.jobs/p/ebaaa4c7-c721-4e38-ad14-5d5a39b5a017/Triage-Security-Analyst-Intern) describes the analyst role as rotating 12- and 8-hour shifts across days, nights and weekends, 24x7x365. The [Triage Security Engineer 3](https://www.purpose.jobs/discover/companies/arctic-wolf/jobs/61693101-triage-security-engineer-3) posting was remote shift work asking for about five years in threat hunting or incident response.

The security loop is shorter and looser than R&D's. Glassdoor's five Concierge Security Analyst reports average 2.5 out of 5 difficulty, about 14 days and 25% positive. One candidate had a single one-hour video call with the hiring manager and a team member that felt like a conversation; another met an analyst and an operations manager in round one; a 2021 Eden Prairie candidate had three interviews with three groups and never heard back. Concierge Security Engineer reports (3 out of 5, about 18 days) run from "Very technical" (Waterloo, 2020) to easy, and one 2024 candidate learned after three interviews that the role now required fluent German. An [Indeed review](https://www.indeed.com/cmp/Arctic-Wolf-Networks) from a Pleasant Grove triage intern (November 2024) praised the training and called triage's monotony the hardest part. Senior triage and detection loops lean on judgment; [here is how security engineer loops grade it](/post/3233476398/security-engineer-loop-judgment-over-trivia/).

## Levels and comp (2026)

Each posting shows one base range for the whole job family, so ranges are wide and span levels; postings add incentive pay and a new-hire equity grant, and the [careers page](https://arcticwolf.com/company/careers/) says all employees get equity. Ranges on the Workday board on November 5, 2026:

- Developers, Canada: 75,000 to 246,000 CAD (Staff Software Developer, Data Ingestion; Staff AI Developer; Senior Developer, R&D Tools, Waterloo)

- [Infrastructure Developer, Eden Prairie](https://arcticwolf.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/External/job/Eden-Prairie-MN-USA/Infrastructure-Developer---R-D-Tools---Systems_R26_1121): 86,000 to 265,700 USD

- [Principal Information Security Engineer, Canada](https://arcticwolf.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/External/job/Remote-Canada/Principal-Information-Security-Engineer_R26_1104): 60,000 to 211,000 CAD

- [Manager, Security Operations](https://arcticwolf.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/External/job/Office---USA---Minnesota-Eden-Prairie/Manager--Security-Operations_R26_1107-1): 110,000 to 222,000 USD; [Manager, Concierge Security](https://arcticwolf.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/External/job/Eden-Prairie-MN-USA/Manager--Concierge-Security_R26_1043): 126,000 to 222,000 USD

- [Triage Cybersecurity Analyst, Frankfurt](https://arcticwolf.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/External/job/Frankfurt-DEU/Triage-Cybersecurity-Analyst--m-w-d-_R26_449): 38,000 to 54,100 EUR (on-site, German required); [Concierge Security Engineer 2, Newcastle](https://arcticwolf.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/External/job/Newcastle-GBR/Cybersecurity-Consultant---Concierge-Security-Engineer-2--m-f-d-_R25_1024): 44,000 to 133,000 GBP

No US triage analyst posting found listed a range, so there is no published US or Canadian band for that title. The Bengaluru postings checked list no range either. Self-reported data is thin: [Levels.fyi](https://www.levels.fyi/companies/arctic-wolf/salaries/software-engineer) shows a Canadian software engineer median total compensation of CA$136,593 from 109 submissions, and [Indeed](https://www.indeed.com/cmp/Arctic-Wolf-Networks/salaries) lists US Security Engineer pay averaging $88,354 from six reports (updated October 28, 2026). The company is private and the $4.3B mark dates from 2021, so ask for the current 409A price, vesting schedule and post-departure exercise window.

## Prep priorities

For triage and Concierge roles, drill fundamentals: common ports, the CIA triad, IDS versus IPS, TCP/IP and subnetting, and Active Directory structure (OUs, groups, Group Policy, Windows logon events). The postings name authentication, SaaS, endpoint and IaaS, so practice reading Microsoft 365 or Okta sign-in logs and EDR alerts and calling real or benign in two sentences. Do a few TryHackMe or Hack The Box SOC rooms, bring one runbook or incident write-up, and practice explaining a finding to a non-technical customer.

For R&D, expect an assessment and LeetCode-style coding, and a React build for front-end roles. The Data Ingestion posting names Go and Python; the Waterloo [Senior Developer, R&D Tools posting](https://arcticwolf.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/External/job/Office---CAN---Ontario-Waterloo/Senior-Developer---R-D-Tools---Systems_R26_1203-1) names Python, Terraform and Kafka, with Docker or Kubernetes as a plus; the Infrastructure Developer posting names Python, Entra, Okta, Terraform and AWS, Azure or GCP. The 2026 Bengaluru reports added pagination, chunking and RAG. Separately, the remote-Canada [Staff AI Developer posting](https://arcticwolf.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/External/job/Remote-Canada/Staff-AI-Developer_R26_1122) asks for LLM integration experience and exposure to alert triage and MITRE ATT&CK. For detection roles, write a few Sigma rules mapped to ATT&CK techniques.

Ask the recruiter which site and shift pattern the seat uses, whether a language requirement applies, whether there is an assessment, and how the Agentic SOC's AI agents change the triage seat's daily work. The [security engineer interview guides](/security-engineer-interview-guides/) collect more role-by-role material, and the [Rapid7 guide](/companies/rapid7-interview-guide/) covers another MDR vendor's cloud security engineering loop.

## Frequently Asked Questions
